Adrift

This is not one of my better pictures but it will do. I had a sad phone call from my brother yesterday. His grandson, my great nephew, Stephen had taken an overdose of heroin and was in a coma in the hospital.
Poor Stephen. He was such a beautiful little boy.
Somehow life didn't quite work out for him. His father and mother were not mature enough to have a family. They struggled themselves and so
Stephen did too. Lyndi, his mom, has tried to turn herself around. She has made many efforts
to improve her life and the lives of her sons. I believe she is finally going to succeed. She has
a man in her life that is not bringing her down;
A man that she is planning to marry. I had hoped that Stephen who has been in trouble might
finally be getting his act together. When I saw him about 2 yrs ago, he was skateboarding
and looking pretty good. I had hopes for him.
Now he is adrift. As he is treading between life and death, I pray that he may find a hand
to hold on to; one that will bring him ashore and a safe haven. Hang in there, Stephen; hang on.
