A Successful Day with the Shutterbugs

What a nice day! First of all it did not snow or rain. In fact,
the sun was out. Secondly, we had a total of 6 photographers
and one driving husband. The shutterbugs were Debbie Newell,
Jeanne Poovey, New-commers Deb Werling(known as DW),
raspy voiced Lucy Haynes, and our couple- Julie and Mike Cochran and Me. We met at Curves at 8:35am -sort of- and headed out Rt 50 towards Winchester. At Winchester, we went south on Rt 11 to the Belle Grove Plantation. There was this neat red barn there that I knew Jeanne would just love and I
was right. Poor Julie had a little trouble with her camera but
she eventually got it going. Julie and Mike were travelling in
their own car because they had to get back earlier. After a pleasant hour at the barn we continued on #11 down past MT
Jackson where there is a lovely covered bridge called Weems
Bottom Bridge. It was built in 1892. We spent about 45 min.
shooting there and then we parted company with Julie and Mike. We continued on to New Market stopping by to see my
dear friend, Ruth Gil. We also got some lunch because hunger
was setting in and Jeanne and DW were foaming at the mouth. We drove to the Battlefield
but decided that $8.00 a piece was too steep to see the place. We took some pictures and
then decided to drive home on Rt 81 to get there faster. It was a good day with good friends.
I'm glad for the new and grateful for the old. Definitely a day to be treasured.
