There but for the Grace

Have you ever wonder why you go one way and someone else goes another way? Last night at OA, I listened to the members

talk about their addictions, and I wondered how I was so lucky to just have the one addiction. What stopped me from turning to booze, smoking and drugs? And what brought me finally to seek

help when so many others don't?

When I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior, I began to hear what He has been trying to tell me for so many years. I am not out of the woods by any means but my course is straighter

than it was. In my Bible studies, our book is asking about God's love and what it means. I said it was like being hugged. You feel encircled,warm, safe and at home. I remember one of my favorite quotes from a movie called "SHENANDOAH". "I feel safe and somebody cares."

That knowledge keeps me on the right path and maybe, if it is His Will, I might be able to show someone else.
