The Curves Camera Crew
Who would have thought that with just two people who love photography, a wonderful thing started. The Curves Camera Crew began with Jeanne Poovey and myself.
I had been bringing in my pictures to show the ladies at Curves . Jeanne was especially interested and she mentioned that she took pictures too. I asked if she would bring them in and she did. I liked her work and told her so. When we had a Curves Art show, I asked Jeanne to put up some of her photos which she did. Later on, another lady, Debbie Newell, brought in some of her pictures to show me. I like what she was doing and it just so happened that Jeanne was there also. I showed Jeanne Debbie's photos and she was impressed as well. The three of us decided to go on a shoot together and we decided to make it Harper's Ferry. Great choice, great day, fantastic photos and the Crew was formed. We had fun sharing the pictures with each other and the other members of Curves. Soon others began to express an interest in joining: Jeanie Fath, Julie Cochran, Deb "DW" Werling, Lucy Haynes, Yvette Forsman, and our newest member, LindseyRidenour.
Besides Harper's Ferry, we have been to the National Memorial Park, Great Falls, Belle Grove Planatation(the red barn), Weems Bottom Bridge, New Market Battlefield, Huntley Meadows, MeadowLark Gardens, Green Spring Gardens, and Bonnie Allen' s Butterfly Garden in Potomac, MD. Our motto is SHOOT WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY and the variety has been endless. As I prepare to leave this area, I know I will miss this little group of individuals a great deal. I have learned so much from them and I appreciate their special gifts. I pray with all my heart that they will keep the crew together and welcome others who show an interest.
My Camera and I salute you all.
This crazy blog would only let me put in four pictures:the picture with 3 is DebbieNewell,Jeanie Fath and Jeanne Poovey. The black hatted lady is Lucy Haynes. The one peeking out from under the bush is DW Werling and the game lady with the tripod is the intrepid Julie Cochran.
Please forgive me Yvette and Lindsay. Oh, and a special thanks to my boss, Sue, who has been kind enough to let us show our shots on the walls of Curves.
