Niagara Falls---Southern Style
I was reading about waterfalls
and of course, I looked in Kentucky to see if they mentioned any special ones.
They did: Cumberland Falls. They refer to it as the Niagara Falls of the South because the water goes over with such force that you get mist like you do up at Niagara. Well, the water was down little this year with the lack of drenching rains
but even so, I could certainly see the resemblence. I love the fact that they let you get really close to the Falls for picture taking. That made it extra fun for me. We also found out an interesting fact about Cumberland Falls: it is one of the few places you can see a moonbow. There has to be a full moon and you have to be standing in a certain place but you can see it. In fact, they even keep the park open until midnight so that you can see this event. How cool is that? In case you don't know what a moonbow is, it is a rainbow but instead of the sun, it uses the moon so it is at night. Look it up on the internet. It is really spectacular. Cumberland Falls was everything I hoped it would be.
