Getting into the Past

I guess every state has something like Ft. Boonesborough where people dress up like those who originally occupied this settlement but the people we met here really seem to get into the part.
The guy trying to make a fire not only talked like one of the settlers but he was walking out in the rain in his bare feet like they might have back then. The other guy was making a surveyor's compass. We enjoyed Ft. Boonesborough not only for the information and the people but also
for something we purchased. There was a general store there with articles similar to those which you might have found back then. One of those was a mixture of roasted dried peas and corn seasoned with a little salt. The peas tasted like peanuts and the corn tasted like popcorn. The settlers used to carry this when they were on the trail. Both Lynn and I enjoyed it.
